The advent of the gas street light in 1867 marked a step forward in Kansas City's progress . . . just as a  year before,  when Peter Waggoner purchased a mill at Independence, baking was advanced a step forward with the introduction of QUEEN of the PANTRY Flour.  Then, as today, Kansas City women knew the splendid baking qualities of this perfect pastry and biscuit flour.
