And they read in the book, in the law of

Lectures
|
 |
HE
Special Lecture Course each year is
furnished by the most cultured and
scholarly men and women in Kansas
City. |
The topics they discuss have a
direct bearing upon the work of the
school, and in every way furnish an
inspiration to the pupils.
These lectures are free to the
pupils and friends of the school. |
|
SPECIAL
|
In justice to school boards and the
public, as well as to our school and
its pupils, we desire it to be
understood that all graduates or
other pupils of sufficient training
to warrant our doing so will be
given a diploma or a written
testimonial of their fitness to
teach or to give public recitals.
We hope such testimonials will be
required of any claiming to have
been students of this school, should
they seek employment.
We are forced to make this request,
because, within the last two years,
persons who have only taken a few
lessons, and in one case none at
all, have, through false
representations, secured positions
to teach.
We feel that our obligations to the
public demand this statement. |
|
LIBRARY
|
In a school of this character, in
order to do the best work, a good
reference library is a necessity.
The collection now numbers several
hundred volumes and the number is
increasing from year to year.
The best books are purchased as soon
as they are published, that our
pupils may be in touch with the most
advanced thought. |
|
RECITALS
|
A series of public recitals,
beginning with the winter term, is
give each year, and such pupils as
have made sufficient progress will
have every opportunity of appearing
in public. Reading,
recitations, scenes from the drama
are presented in such a way as to
make these recitals exceedingly
popular, and on every occasion the
large hall has been taxed to its
utmost. |
